Fascia
Filler deposits may end up unintentionally in the SMAS or fascial layers of the skin. Very often this will not lead to adverse events, however, adverse events ( nodules, migration / redistribution impaired muscle movement and smiling and malar edema) are are often related to filler ending up in the SMAS or fascia.
